Felix Haass

Welcome! I’m an Assistant Professor for Comparative Politics at Humboldt University of Berlin. Before coming to Berlin, I held positions at the University of Oslo, German Institute of Global and Area Studies (GIGA), and the University of Osnabrueck.

My research focuses on two core themes: political violence and its legacies and autocratic politics. Current research projects study how wars shape political behavior, loyalty and indoctrination in dictatorships, and the politics of symbolic infrastructure projects.

Results of my research have been published or are forthcoming in the American Political Science Review, the Journal of Politics, World Politics, the British Journal of Political Science, and Comparative Political Studies, among others.
