Felix Haass

Welcome! I’m a post-doctoral researcher in the project “The Emergence, Life, and Demise of Autocratic Regimes” (ELDAR) at the University of Oslo. Before coming to Oslo, I was a post-doc at the German Institute of Global and Area Studies (GIGA) and the University of Osnabrueck.

Sitting at the intersection between Comparative Politics and International Relations, my main research areas are conflicts/political violence, dictatorships, and international security. I currently study how wars shape political behavior and institutions, loyalty and indoctrination in dictatorships, and the politics of symbolic infrastructure projects.

Results of my research have been published or are forthcoming in the American Political Science Review, the Journal of Politics, World Politics, the British Journal of Political Science, and Comparative Political Studies, among others.
